The Needs of the Diocese

Bishop Cullinan has written this week to remind us of the Needs of the Diocese.

Many existing services like Family Ministry, Cura (which offers crisis pregnancy counselling and post-abortion counselling) have to be maintained and developed.  New services like the development of Glencomeragh (mentioned in last weeks Newsletter) will require funding.

Here in St. Oliver’s Parish, people who take the box of weekly envelopes will have already made their contribution.  People who do not have the box of envelopes can use the other envelopes provided near the Church entrances.  There is no need to put a name and address on the envelopes.

The Bishop expresses his thanks for the on-going generosity of the people of the diocese. He is also aware that people coming to Church are often confronted by other groups who have a Garda Siochana permit to collect near Churches. There are many deserving causes but, if not known, collectors should be asked to show a permit.
