All Day Long, Lord, Remember us, Lord, by your loving care!

All day long, Lord,
I have waited for you on my doorstep,
and, behold you were in my house!
Remember us, Lord, by your loving care!

All day long, Lord,
I have looked for you far off in the crowd,
and, behold you were right next to me,
present in my brothers and sisters!
Remember us, Lord, by your loving care!

All day long, Lord,
my hands remained closed to protect my happiness,
and, behold, my happiness was to open them for you!
Remember us, Lord, by your loving care!

All day long, Lord,
I looked for your Word in the wisdom of men,
and, behold, it was present in the depts of my heart!
Remember us, Lord, by your loving care!
(Lucien Deiss, Biblical Prayers)
