Cemetery Mass Many thanks to all who attended the Mass in St. Patrick’s Cemetery last week. Thanks to everyone who helped set up and assist at the Mass. It was a lovely tribute to all our loved ones – and those long forgotten, who repose in this sacred place.  May they Rest in Peace. Amen.

The Pope’s Intentions for August

Universal: Sports That sports may be an opportunity for friendly encounters between peoples and may contribute to peace in the world.

Evangelisation: Living the Gospel That Christians may live the Gospel, giving witness to faith, honesty, and love of neighbour.

To Save Us
God our Father,
who send your Son Jesus Christ into the world
not to judge it but to save it,
listen to our prayer:

By giving us your Son, you offer each of us
your light for our darkness,
your joy for our sadness,
your bread to nourish our life,
and your life to overcome our death.

Open our hearts to your word and your grace
so that we may recognise
in you our Father, who calls us by our name,
in your Son, our Saviour and brother,
and in your Spirit, the love which unites us.

And while our lips sing your praise,
bring our hearts close to you,
through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
(Lucien Deiss, Biblical Prayers)
