An Advent Prayer

Lord Jesus, you who wait at the gates, you who are so near to us, we pray to you:

Lock deep in our hearts the treasure of patience until the day of your coming, Lord.

As the labourer waits patiently for the precious fruit of the ground, let us likewise wait, in the peace of hope, for the time of the eternal harvest.

(Lucien Deiss – Biblical Prayers)
