We Beg You, Lord
Save us, O Lord, without you we are lost!

We beg you, Lord!
See our mistakes: be our truth.
See our straying: be our road.
See our death: be our life.
Save us, O Lord, without you we are lost!

See our weakness: be out strength.
See our foolishness: be our wisdom.
See our sin: be our pardon.
Save us, O Lord, without you we are lost!

See our anguish: be our peace.
See our hunger: be our bread.
See our thirst: be our faith.
Save us, O Lord, without you we are lost!

See our pride: be our humility.
See our darkness: be our light.
See our night: be our star.
Save us, O Lord, without you we are lost!

Lord Jesus, you whose name means “Saviour”,
We beg you: for each of us may your name be true-
Save us all, for you are our brother and our only hope!
(Lucien Deiss, Biblical Prayers)
