Thanks  Many thanks to all who helped with the Celebration of Christmas in our Parish: those who got the Church ready, including the Crib, and the Christmas Tree with its decorations; the Choir and the Folk Group; those who distributed the Parish Envelopes; those who donated flowers and plants and the persons who arranged the flowers; the children and teachers from St. Oliver’s School who participated at 12 Noon Mass on the Feast of the Epiphany.

Christmas Collection  The Priests of the Parish are deeply grateful to those who contributed so generously to the Christmas Collection. This collection goes to the Diocese for the support of all the Priests.

Welcome into our Christian Community  Leila May and Senan Thomas Harte, Sean Gerard Callanan and Oisin Boles Moriarty who were baptised over the Christmas period.

Feast of the Baptism of the Lord

As we celebrate this great feast we recall our own Baptism.

It is in Baptism that we die and rise with Christ.  It is in Baptism that we enter the Church, the Body of Christ.

It is in Baptism that we become children of God. It is in Baptism that we are anointed priest, prophetand King.

So as we come to the conclusion of the Christmas season, let us celebrate not only Jesus’ baptism, but our own. And let us continue to remember and celebrate our Baptism each day as we follow Jesus this new year.

Let us also recall our Baptism each time that we bless ourselves with holy water.
